Avada Kedavra

Fear the Dark.
Its power – nakedly stark.
As all Things must –
Listen. Hark!

I wanted to follow the light.
But I now lose sight.
As all Things must –
I surrender to the night.

I wanted warmth and glow.
But I now reap what I sow.
As all Things must –
I fade into shadow.

I wanted to walk tall.
But I now crawl.
As all Things must –
Into Darkness I fall.

I wanted to be wise and just.
But I now decay and rust.
As all Things must –
For Darkness I lust.

I wanted to be the cream.
But I now run out of steam.
As all Things must –
I wake up from my dream.

I wanted to be up so high.
But I now plummet from the sky.
As all Things must –
I realise it is all a lie.

I wanted the world under my thumb.
But I now feel comfortably numb..
As all Things must –
To Darkness I succumb.

I wanted a halo around my head.
But I now see crimson red.
As all Things must –
I walk among the dead.

I thought Life a caring nurse.
But I now see sepulchre and hearse.
As all Things must –
I am blighted by the Curse.

I wanted happiness and joy.
But I now flounder without beacon or buoy.
As all Things must –
I will devastate and destroy.

The Dark Side of the Moon.
The Legend of the Ancient Rune.
As all Things must –
I say it is my bane…it is my boon.
